  1. I was always uncomfortable with the idea of a testing God and think the Job story is disturbing. Perhaps the God of the Old testaments does test the people and demand their allegiance. I think the God of the New Testament is one that fortifies us in times of testing. This testing is initiated by Satan not God and Satan will test us all the time. The Holy Spirit fortifies us as we persevere and are not mere happy times Christians. Thanksgiving blessings to you and yours.
